The current design of human industry and the products and systems that result from its "cradle to grave" characteristics puts humans on a collision course with nature.

Mr. McDonough will present an alternative design strategy based on the cradle to cradle concept he and chemist Dr. Michael Braungart have developed over the last twenty years based on a comprehensive design goal: a delightfully diverse, safe, healthy and just world, with clean air, soil, water and power – ecologically, economically, equitably and elegantly enjoyed.

Cradle to Cradle is a positive, science based design and transformation agenda, which can manifest the opportunity to provide resources for a coming population of nine billion souls in celebration of human innovation and creativity aligned with the laws of nature.

As highly competitive leaders of some of the most recognizable brands around the globe, this forum will be a one-of-a-kind event that will bring energy and excitement to the show floor. The Town Hall will feature executives from three of the beverage industry’s largest players: J. Alexander M. (Sandy) Douglas, President and Chief Operating Officer, North America Group, The Coca-Cola Company; Jim Johnston, President – Concentrate Sales, Dr Pepper Snapple Group; Tom Bené, President, Pepsi-Cola North American Beverages. Moderated by Beverage Digest Publisher John Sicher, the Town Hall will cover a variety of topics, such as environmental stewardship, discriminatory taxes and industry leadership on calorie transparency, innovation and successful implementation of the School Beverage Guidelines.
